On the 5th September 2024, OxPCF partnered with Oxfordshire County Council, the EOTAS/Personal Budget Support Group, and SENDIASS Oxfordshire to host a vital listening event focused on Education Other Than at School (EOTAS). The session provided an open platform for parents and carers to share their experiences, highlight challenges, and suggest improvements to EOTAS pathways.
Key themes included the need for early intervention, better multi-agency collaboration, improved communication and transparency, and recognising EOTAS as a valid educational option rather than a last resort. Parents emphasized the importance of personalised, flexible support tailored to their child’s needs, as well as greater mental health resources and professional training.
This feedback is vital in shaping a more inclusive and supportive EOTAS framework. You can access the full summary, including key insights and proposed next steps, by clicking the link below.
