📢 We’re Delighted to Share Our Oxfordshire Schools SEND Survey Report!
After many months of gathering, reading, and reflecting on the experiences of 1,866 parent carers, we’re finally able to share the full report from our Oxfordshire Schools SEND Family Survey.
We acknowledge that the publication of this report has taken longer than anticipated. As a volunteer-led forum made up of parent carers, our capacity is often stretched as we balance our responsibilities within OxPCF alongside supporting our own families and advocating for our children. Due to the scale and significance of the feedback received, and to ensure that it was analysed thoroughly and presented with the rigour it deserves, we commissioned a professional analyst to undertake this work—an investment that OxPCF fully funded. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we worked to produce a comprehensive report that endeavours to truly reflects the voices of Oxfordshire families.
So, what’s in the report?
This report shines a light on the real-life experiences of families navigating SEND support in schools across Oxfordshire. From nurseries to colleges, it highlights what’s working, where things are falling short, and—most importantly—how support can be improved.
Some of the key takeaways:
• Tremendous variation in support across schools—and even within the same school.
• A significant drop in parent satisfaction at secondary level (especially Key Stage 4).
• Successes in early years and sixth form/college settings that can guide improvement elsewhere.
• A powerful call for better mental health support, inclusive environments, and stronger communication.
There are also positive stories in here—examples of schools getting it right, staff going above and beyond, and simple, imaginative adaptations making a world of difference. 💡
This isn’t just a report – it’s a call to action.
We’re sharing these findings with schools, the Local Authority, and wider partners—and will continue to press for change. While we can’t implement improvements directly, we are committed to making sure your voices are heard, and action is taken.
