ADHD Medication Update – July 2025

Shared with OxPCF by Oxford Health

As your Parent Carer Forum, many of you have told us about your concerns and the difficulties you’ve faced in getting hold of ADHD medication. We’ve shared this feedback with Oxford Health, and they have committed to providing us with regular updates so we can keep you informed.

Here’s the latest:

  • Most ADHD medications are now available.

  • Medikinet: There’s been a supply issue with one of the companies that makes this medication, but the other two suppliers have good stock. Most pharmacies should still be able to get it without too much trouble.

  • Equasym: This medication has been difficult to get for quite a long time and is now more or less discontinued. It’s unlikely to affect families who are currently prescribed it as most people have already moved to other options.

  • Xaggatin: This medication is now widely available again – great news!

  • Atomoxetine: There are some occasional shortages of specific doses from particular suppliers, but this seems to be a localised issue and not a national shortage.

If you’re having any problems getting medication, it’s worth speaking with your pharmacy or asking your prescriber if there are alternatives that can be arranged.

Thank you for continuing to share your experiences with us – your feedback makes a real difference.

Best wishes,
