The Future of SEND in Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire SEND Strategy 2026–2029 & SEND Reform
In July 2026, Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum (OxPCF) and the Local Area Partnership (LAP) hosted two The Future of SEND in Oxfordshire webinars to help families understand the draft Oxfordshire SEND Strategy 2026–2029 and the proposed national SEND reforms.
The webinars gave parent carers the opportunity to hear directly from senior leaders across education, health and the local authority, learn more about the proposals, ask questions and share their views.
Whether you attended the webinars or not, you'll find everything you need on this page to understand the proposals and take part in the consultation.
About the Draft SEND Strategy
The Local Area Partnership brings together Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum (OxPCF), SENDIASS, Oxfordshire County Council (Education and Social Care) and the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) to improve services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The draft SEND Strategy 2026–2029 has been developed using feedback from children, young people, families and professionals, together with learning from inspections and engagement across Oxfordshire.
The strategy sets out the partnership's shared vision for improving SEND services over the next three years, while recognising that national SEND reforms are also being developed.
The ambition is that children and young people with SEND are valued, included, supported early, able to thrive in their communities and prepared confidently for adulthood.
