​​​EHCP Casework Team Communication Listening Events Summary 

 

In November 2024, the Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum (OxPCF) and Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) hosted two Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Communication Listening Events. These sessions were held in response to significant concerns from parent carers about communication with the EHCP Casework Team.

 

Families shared experiences around communication challenges, including delays, lack of clarity, and inconsistent messaging, as well as positive feedback about individual caseworkers who provided supportive, proactive communication. Discussions explored how communication impacts families and identified clear areas for improvement.

 

Key themes included the need for transparency in decision-making, better access to information, and a more compassionate, timely, and consistent approach to communication.
