Co-Designing Guidance for Alternative Provision (AEP)
We’re currently inviting parent carers to take part in a short-term working group focused on Alternative Provision (AEP)in Oxfordshire.
The aim of this group is to co-design clearer, more useful guidance to help other families better understand what AEP is, how it works, and what to expect at different stages of the journey.
Who is this for?
Parent carers of children or young people who:
• Are currently in AEP
• Have been offered a place
• Are struggling to access it
• Are considering AEP as an option
What’s involved?
• 4–5 online sessions, held over five weeks (evenings)
• Option to attend in person if online access is a barrier
• A £10 voucher per session to recognise your time and contribution
• A collaborative, supportive space to share experiences and shape guidance that works for others
Deadline to express interest: 9am, Thursday 24 April 2025

Why Working Groups Matter
This is more than consultation. It’s about co-production — creating solutions with families, not just for them.
By taking part, you’re helping to make information and support clearer, kinder, and more relevant to those who need it most.
